Wide Open Heart

If we would only choose love how would the experience of heart break, struggle or loss change us as we step through to the other side?

When we lose something that we hold so precious and dear to our hearts there is a journey of emotion, remembering and reflecting that only time, processing and love can heal. In a time of great healing and processing, writing can be a magical tool to access our deep hearts and let the emotion move through.

Love is our greatest gift. Love is our greatest teacher. Love is the greatest reminder of who we are and how much we are all connected.

In honor of love living in the tears, the laughter, the frustrations, the heart break, the triumphs, the hardships, the memories, the friendships, the subtle moments and most importantly in all of our hearts, here is a tribute to one loved more than words.

As I woke and looked to the place you once slept, the love ran through

As I spoke, "Good Morning my boy, I love you," to the spirit of your face, the love ran through

As I walked downstairs hearing your foot prints next to mine, the love ran through

As I put on my hat and jacket I heard your dancing feet, the love ran through

As I walked around the lake with two arms free, the love ran though

As I looked at passing dogs smiling at me, the love ran through

As I spoke to you in spirit like every other day, the love ran through

As I felt where you once sat next to me, the love ran through

As I remembered your joy for living, the love ran through

As I missed you more than anything, the love ran through

As I loved that you were everywhere I looked, the love ran through

As I felt how much you loved me, the love ran through

As I lived on with your spirit looking over me, the love ran through

As I gave you my unconditional love and still do, the love ran through

The love ran through. The love ran through. The love ran through.
